Happy Birthday In Russian

Birthdays are important occasions in Russia and are celebrated от всей души (wholeheartedly). The traditional greeting is С днём рождения! (Happy Birthday) although the и sound is rarely annunciated.  So it sounds more like С днём рожденья or, for particularly fast-talking Russians, even с днём рожденя. Sometimes you might also hear с днём варенья (literally: happy jam day), which is used mostly to congratulate children or really good friends.
With the opening line of your greeting taken care of, let’s move on to the birthday wishes. Russians have some very formulaic пожелания (wishes) phrases that cover pretty much all the different special occasions and work well for birthdays. Some of them are
Желаю всего самого лучшего (I am wishing you all the best) is the basic one. You can start here and then elaborate.
Желаю здоровья, счастья и любви (I am wishing you health, happiness and love) is another commonly used greeting.
Желаю, чтобы у тебя всё было, а тебе за это ничего бы не было (I wish you have it all without repercussions) is ok if you are good friends with the именинница (birthday girl, woman) or именинник (birthday boy, man).
Желаю, чтобы все Ваши мечты сбылись (I wish that all your dreams come true) or Желаю всего, чего Вы сами себе желаете (I wish you all that you wish for yourself) always work. You can replace the formal Ваши (your) with an informal твои (your) for a close friend or a child.
If you end up going to a birthday party and would like to toast your friend, you can use one of the above greetings as a toast with only slight changes. Always start with Я предлагаю выпить за _______ (I propose we drink to _____). Then add a greeting, starting with Желаю ей/ему (Wishing her/him)…
Oh, and instead of the _______ use either the name of the birthday person, the word именинница or именинник, or a phrase виновница торжества (hero of the day, for a woman) or виновник торжества (hero of the day, for a man).Birthday celebrations in Russia are a big deal, and can sometimes go on for two or three days, or even longer! It is traditional for the person whose birthday it is, to provide the celebrations, food and drink for his/her guests. So if you invite a group of friends out to a restaurant for your birthday dinner, it would be traditional for you to pay for everyone. Obviously not everyone can afford to do this, so celebrations usually take place in the home with lots of food, drink and merriment.
Birthdays are good occasions to celebrate and if you know how to say happy birthday in Russian, you will not only impress everyone around but will also show a Russian birthday boy or girl you sincerely care. The most common way to say happy birthday in Russian is ‘s dnyom rozhdeniya’. It is appropriate for any situation, from a formal down to the most informal one. In an informal setting you may also opt for ‘s dnyukhoy’. But mind that it is very colloquial, mostly used by younger people and among best friends. If you feel like memorizing a longer phrase, there is a way to say happy birthday in Russian for you, too. Add ‘pozdravlyayu’ before ‘s dnyom rozhdeniya’ and it will mean an elaborate ‘I congratulate you on your birthday’. Finally, a way to say happy birthday in Russian which will never make into serious textbooks — ‘s dnyom varenya’. While ‘varenya’ is a word for ‘home-made jam’, it rhymes perfectly with ‘rozhdeniya’ from the standard phrase. Some Russians regard this phrase as slightly childish, so say it to someone who is likely to understand and appreciate.
Here are several ways to wish happy birthday in Russian :
"S Dnjom Razhdenija" or "Pazdravliayu s dniom razhdjenia!" means happy birthday, while "Pazdravlyaju s dnjom razhdenija" means "congratulations for your birthday".
You could also wish happy birthday with a russian poem such as
"Primi pozdravleniya
V svoy den' rozhdeniya.
Bud' vsegda schastlivim,
Zdorovym i l'ubimim!
Zhivi, naslazhdaisya,
Kupaisya v lubvi.
Vot vrode i vse
Pozhelania moi!"
which translates to
"Accept my congratulations
for the reasons of your Birthday.
Be always happy, healthy and loved.
Live, enjoy,
Bathe in a sea of love.
These are all I think
my wishes to you."

Happy Birthday Gift

Birthday celebrations vary by culture and gender, as does the history of birthday gifts. Beginning perhaps as early as Roman times, traditions were taken from other, often pagan, celebrations and applied to celebrating an individual’s birthday. But, like other holidays, religion influenced these traditions, and Christianity introduced the calendar of saints, which associated each day with a saint or martyr. This calendar led to the custom of individuals taking for his or her baptismal or confirmation name the name of the saint honored on his or her day of birth. Thus, even today, some Catholics celebrate the saint on his or her “name day” rather than celebrating a “birth day” and some Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays because of the pagan origin of the birthday tradition.
A birthday is a day that comes once a year when a person celebrates the anniversary of their birth. Birthdays are celebrated in numerous cultures, often with a gift, party, or rite of passage.
Many religions celebrate the birth of their founders with special holidays.Note the distinction between birthday and birthdate: The former occurs each year (e.g. September 12), while the latter is the exact date a person was born (e.g. September 12, 2003).In many portions of the world. an individual's birthday is celebrated by a party where a specially made cake, usually decorated with lettering and the person's age, is presented. The cake is traditionally studded with the same number of lit candles as the age of the individual, or a number candle representing their age. The celebrated individual usually will make a silent wish and attempt to blow out the candles in one breath; if successful, a tradition holds that the wish will be granted. In many cultures, the wish must be kept secret or it won't "come true". Presents are bestowed on the individual by the guests appropriate to her/his age. Other birthday activities may include entertainment (usually by a hired professional, i.e. a clown, magician, or musician), and a special toast or speech by the birthday celebrant. The last stanza of Patty Hill's and Mildred Hill's famous song, "Good Morning to You" (unofficially titled "Happy Birthday to You") is typically sung by the guests at some point in the proceedings. In some countries a piñata takes the place of a cake. An occasional activity is spanking the birthday individual, with one usually gentle "swat" for each year since birth. In North America, the celebration of a birthday is fundamentally about celebrating the role of friends and families in an individual's life and recognizing their importance.
I can’t tell you how overjoyed I am today. It feels SO GOOD. I am so proud of myself and of everything I have achieved in my life so far. First and foremost I have the most beautiful and incredible people in my life who have gone out of their way to make me feel so special today and who are there for me every day. You know who you are, thank you, I love you! Secondly, I have had the absolute pleasure to be able to make a living doing something that I would do for free because I love it so much. Today I decided to give myself a break, and have banned myself from work, but I still find myself waking up early to do a special self portrait as a gift to myself for my birthday, I still find myself get lost in the editing process, I still find myself here blogging and sharing it with you all. I’m living my life inspired each and every single day and I love it.The biggest thank you of all goes to myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The number of times you have felt to just give up on your dreams, but you persevered. I owe it all to the strength that you had in those moments.

Happy Birthday Chords

Every ukulele player should know how to play Happy Birthday. It's the one song we are all guaranteed of singing at least a few times a year, and it's one of the easiest to learn.
Here are three simple versions, all in the key of F. Playing in F means that the lowest note in the song is also the lowest note on a reentrant-tuned ukulele: the open C string. Thus we can pick out the melody using the three bottom strings and very little hand movement.
Method 1: Chords Only
This is the most basic arrangement of the song. Strum the chords and sing along.

F                 C7
Happy Birthday to you
                  F
Happy Birthday to you
                      Bb
Happy Birthday, dear (you)
      F        C7  F
Happy Birthday to  you
Method 2: Picking the Melody
Here is a simple melody version. It is laid out as if you are holding your uke ready to play, but have your fretboard turned toward you; thus, in GCEA tuning, the top line of dashes represents the "A" string, and the bottom line is the "G" string. A "0" indicates plucking the open string, and numbers show where you fret the string while plucking it.
|--------------|--------------|--------------|--------------|
|--------------|--1--0--------|--------------|--3---1-------|
|-0-0---2---0--|--------------|-0-0---2---0--|--------------|
|--------------|--------------|--------------|--------------|
Happy Birthday  to you        Happy Birthday   to you

|-------3---0--|--------------|-1-1---0------|--------------|
|--------------|--1----0------|-----------1--|--3--1--------|
|-0-0----------|----------2---|--------------|--------------|
|--—-----------|--------------|--------------|--------------|
Happy Birthday  dear (yo-u)   Happy Birthday   to you
Method 3: Picking + Chords
Finally, we can combine the two methods of playing. The melody is picked, as above, but chords are also strummed at the end of each phrase.
                  F  C7                        C7  F
|--------------|--0--1--------|--------------|--1--0--------|
|--------------|--1--0--------|--------------|--0--1--------|
|-0-0---2---0--|--0--0--------|-0-0---2---0--|--0--0--------|
|--------------|--2--0--------|--------------|--0--2--------|
Happy Birthday  to you        Happy Birthday   to you
                        Bb                    C7  F
|-------3---0--|----------1---|-1-1---0------|--1--0--------|
|--------------|--1----0--1---|-----------1--|--0--1--------|
|-0-0----------|----------2---|--------------|--0--0--------|

Happy Birthday dear  (yo-u)   Happy Birthday   to you
Extra: "And many more..."
The arrow (->) shows a slide from the 2nd to 3rd fret; the tilde (~) is for vibrato.

|-0--2-0--2->3~~~|

 and many more...
If you want to get extra fancy, make that slide into an F7 chord:

Happy Birthday Lyrics

Happy Birthday Wishes Cake Pictues Imags Quotes to You Jesus Sister Cards Funny

source link (google.com)
The melody and lyrics were written by two sisters - Mildred J. Hill (born 1859) and Patty Smith Hill (born 1868). Patty was a schoolteacher who developed the "Patty Hill blocks" and was a faculty member at Columbia University Teachers College. Mildred was also an educator who later on became a composer, organist and pianist. The melody was composed by Mildred and the lyrics were written by Patty, but it was originally for a classroom greeting song titled "Good Morning to All." The song "Good Morning to All" was part of the book Song Stories for the Kindergarten which the sisters co-wrote and published in 1893.
From then on the lyrics were changed from its original form to "Good Morning to You" and then to "Happy Birthday to You." It is still unclear who changed the lyrics that turned it into a birthday song, but it was first published in 1924 on a book edited by Robert H. Coleman. Since then, the song became popular and in 1934, Jessica Hill, another Hill sister, filed a lawsuit because of the unauthorized use of the "Happy Birthday to You" melody which clearly resembles the melody of "Good Morning to All," the song her sisters originally wrote. In 1935, Jessica, who was working with publisher Clayton F. Summy Company, copyrighted and published "Happy Birthday."
In the 1930s the Clayton F. Summy Company was bought by John F. Sengstack and renamed it Birch Tree Ltd. In 1998, Birch Tree Ltd was in turn bought by Warner Chappell for $25 million. The company is now known as Summy-Birchard Music. It is reported that the birthday song brings in about $2 million a year in royalties with half going to Summy-Birchard and the other half to the Hill Foundation.
"Happy Birthday to You", also known more simply as "Happy Birthday", is a song that is traditionally sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person's birth. According to the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow". The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages, p. 17 The melody of "Happy Birthday to You" comes from the song "Good Morning to All", which has been attributed to American siblings Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill in 1893, although the claim that the sisters composed the tune is disputed. Patty was a kindergarten principal in Louisville, Kentucky, developing various teaching methods at what is now the Little Loomhouse; Mildred was a pianist and composer., The sisters used "Good Morning to All" as a song that young children would find easy to sing.,
The combination of melody and lyrics in "Happy Birthday to You" first appeared in print in 1912, and probably existed even earlier.,None of these early appearances included credits or copyright notices. The Summy Company registered for copyright in 1935, crediting authors Preston Ware Orem and Mrs. R.R. Forman. In 1988, Warner/Chappell Music purchased the company owning the copyright for $25 million, with the value of "Happy Birthday" estimated at $5 million. Based on the 1935 copyright registration, Warner claims that the United States copyright will not expire until 2030, and that unauthorized public performances of the song are technically illegal unless royalties are paid to Warner. In one specific instance in February 2010, these royalties were said to amount to $700. In the European Union, the copyright of the song will expire no later than December 31, 2016.
The American copyright status of "Happy Birthday to You" began to draw more attention with the passage of the Copyright Term Extension Act in 1998. When the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Act in Eldred v. Ashcroft in 2003, Associate Justice Stephen Breyer specifically mentioned "Happy Birthday to You" in his dissenting opinion.American law professor Robert Brauneis, who extensively researched the song, has concluded that "It is almost certainly no longer under copyright."In 2013, based in large part on Brauneis's research, Good Morning to You Productions, a documentary film company, sued Warner/Chappell for falsely claiming copyright to the song.

Happy Birthday Songs

Happy birthday they used to say.
Happy birthday to you.
In the not too distant future we were going to have flying cars, endless food, miracle medicine, and world peace. Until all the adults went away.
No one knows what happened, it just was as surreal as reality can get. Many of us just woke up to the empty beds and houses, alarms blaring with no certain answer from their users. No notes goodbye, no missing cars, nothing that I could discern would have signaled our parents to have been taken by force. It wasn't long until we knew for a fact they all just disappeared though, it's still happening.
Every time one of us ages, we become 18, we are gone. Few see it, and it's hard not to blink when you're focusing that hard, but one second you're there and the next you're not...
I wonder if it's better to be there, wherever they go. It certainly isn't any good down here. At first it was normal. We all grieved, panicked, and tried desperately to decide on what we'd do next. Some of us tried to take responsibilities, help the little ones adjust. Then the fire came, for a while we weren't sure how, but as we scrambled to organize the hysterical children we saw them. A couple of punks, with way too much liquor, were throwing around homemade Molotov's.
They took us over, we didn't really get a choice, they had guns. What were we supposed to do?
Worse, the kids loved it. I mean they were timid at first but they just fell in love with being able to play with real guns. And the Shadows, I don't know if they're real or not but it certainly isn't helping. We hear noises at night, in the distance we see movement, and the assholes that took over our camp are our "Protectors." Little babies may eat that right up, but we know better. They do too, I see it in their faces when they look at me."Try something." is written all over their eyes.
It wasn't long til the first kid got shot, and the first deaths happened. They died, and I couldn't do anything. The little guy thought he was protecting us from the Shadows, she was coming back from the restroom.
Those punks had him beat, and when he cried for mercy, they shot him. Justice they called it.
We called it madness. We called it tyranny, and we tried to stop it. No one can say we didn't try, but the kids were scared and after weeks of taking in other refugees, and hearing more stories about the Shadows, everyone just turned to the guys with the guns.
I don't know what is happening elsewhere, but at nights the low gurgling sounds from the shadows don't overwhelm me, are the nights I swear I hear gunfire and screams in the distance.  I wish I could do something right about now. I wish I didn't have to listen to them all, scared, crying, alone. Have you ever read The Lord of the Flies?
Perhaps not. Whoever reads this won't remember us. I guess that's why I'm writing this, so that someone will remember us. No.
No, I'm writing this, because even after all of the trouble we caused, even after executing everyone else who tried to put a stop to them; they didn't kill me. It's because they know they don't have to.  I'm writing because today's my birthday.
Perhaps cried is too mild of a description. Because as soon as folks start belting out the first line, she screams, as terrified as if a big, bad monster had jumped out from under her bed and roared in her face. I’m sure her howls have been captured on countless home videos, drowning out the laughter of the birthday girl or birthday boy being celebrated. My husband and I have gotten to the point where we whisk her away and try to distract her as soon as we see the cake coming out. A few times, the party place offered no escape route, so we’d wait nervously–my husband picking at his fingers, me pacing in a circle–until the song and ensuing hysterics started.
Before every birthday party, we tell Zoe that people will sing “Happy Birthday to You” and that it’s meant to be a fun song. She nods her head, as if she understands, and even starts singing it herself. “I like this song, mommy.” Until it is sung at the party.
